Pants pointed out to her that at least she had hit pan, so it wasn’t like she had destroyed a completely new one. But it’s still heartbreaking, no matter how much or little product there was remaining.

Red immediately ordered a new one, because like the girls of “Jerseylicious,” she can’t live without her bronzah.

These girls are not scared of big hair or dark makeup. But they need to tone it down.

Here is the Glam Fairy Alexa doing her signature smoky eye – which is basically just slapping some gray eyeshadow on this poor girl, and little else.

That woman is a professional makeup artist. She was the HEAD makeup artist at a salon, and branched off to start her own business. Could she have not at least put some foundation on the model first? And she’s only putting on concealer to hide her mistakes! Since she wasn’t wearing any other makeup, why not use makeup remover? There are just so many things wrong with that.

And because we can’t leave you with that, we wanted to show you how to actually do a smoky eye without ripping someone’s face off or getting gray shadow all over their face.

Boots No7 Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation ($13.99, target.com)

I’m a tinted moisturizer girl. It’s what I started with, and it’s what I prefer on most days. One reason I held off on wearing makeup for so long was that I couldn’t stand the feel of foundation on my face. Over the last year or so, I’ve been searching for the perfect foundation for days when I want to look a little more… flawless? Put together? I don’t know, I just have foundation days sometimes.

I decided to give this Boots No7 mousse foundation a try after one of my favorite YouTubers, nvmakeuplover, did a review of it. I thought I’d give it a try since it wasn’t too pricey and I could actually go get it at Target and not have to order it.

The texture is very soft, and when you blend it in, if gives a matte, powdery finish. There’s no need for setting powder. However, I have combination skin and in the winter, my forehead and cheeks can look flakey. And this product seems to just make it worse. I’ve tried it several times since I bought it in September, and it’s only looked nice maybe twice.

I do moisturize before applying, but my forehead still looks flakey. And it seems like the more I blend, the worse it looks.

Flakes aside, I do like the coverage and lightweight feel of the product. I’m hoping to try it again when it starts to get warmer and my skin decides it’s going to be oily again.

If you have normal to oily skin, this product might be really great for you. Combination and dry skinned girls should probably avoid it.

I give Boots No7 Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation 2 out of 5 sparkles.

When winter started, Pants was wearing a lot of cranberry eyeshadows and blush. But as the cold and gloomy weather keeps going on and on and on, she’s gone back to coral and bright pink blushes to brighten things up. Pants’ favorite product lately to brighten up her look is Tarte’s Amazonian Clay blush in Tipsy ($25, tartecosmetics.com). Is it spring yet?

Red’s has been punching the winter blues up a bit with a brighter lip. She has been loving Benefit’s Ultra Shine Lip Shine in Spiked Punch ($18, Sephora.com).

Back back to beauty – Pantone’s color of the year for 2012 is tangerine tango, and we’re pretty pumped about it. Tangerine makeup may sound scary, but it’s really not. Here are some of our picks to help you wear the tangerine trend:

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy ($25, tartecosmetics.com)

Tipsy is definitely a G&S favorite. We both own this blush and love, love, love it. It’s described as coral, and leans a little more to the tangerine side than the pink side. It’s a great cheek color for the spring and summer, but we’ve found it’s been brightening our days when the winter gloom is starting to get to us.

Inglot Pearl 407 ($5, inglotusa.com)

We both also own this color and it was pretty much an instant favorite. It’s a golden peach, but definitely is in the tangerine family.

Stila Lip Glaze in Apricot ($22, Sephora.com)

Apricot is described as a melon nectarine shade. It will be lovely as a light wash of color over the lips.

Essie Mango Bango ($8, essie.com)

This is the perfect shade to help sport a tangerine dream look. Red wore this one a lot last summer and absolutely loved it.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes ($19, tartecosmetics.com)

I got a mini version of this mascara with a Tarte holiday set. Tarte describes it as a “push-up bra for your lashes,” and that it curls, lengthens, adds volume and conditions lashes. Well, I don’t know if it curls, but it does hold the curl pretty well after I use my lash curler. It adds some volume and length. What’s weird is that I can tell it adds length on my shorter lashes closer to the inner corner/center of my eye, but it doesn’t look like it adds much length to my outer lashes. It does add volume, but it clumps my lashes a little more than I like – not that it’s super clumpy, just slightly. While it works fine, I don’t really think it’s worth the $19 price tag.

I give Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara 3 out of 5 sparkles.

L’Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes ($8.99, Ulta.com)

I have been wanting to try a fiber mascara for quite sometime. I had a coupon and decided to try  this mascara out. Yay coupons! The brush is pretty amazing and the mascara is very buildable. I love how this mascara looks on my lashes. It really defines and makes them look very full. My only qualms with this mascara is with the actual fibers. I don’t think there has been a time where I haven’t got one of the fibers in my eyes. I like it so much I still use it.

I give L’Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Mascara 2 out of  5 sparkles.

Keep in mind, these products weren’t necessarily released in 2011 – they were products we used in 2011 and we loved.

For this edition, we’re going to pick out or favorite eye products.

Eye Makeup

Single Shadow

• Red – MAC Woodwinked - This is an amazing shimmery gold color. I love it and wear it a lot. It looks great of course with browns, but it also looks amazing with grey shades.
• Pants – Urban Decay Toasted – So I honestly don’t buy single shadows any more, which made it really hard to choose. I have bought some Inglot shadows, but the one I would choose I just got for Christmas, so it doesn’t seem fair to choose it. So I went through my palettes to find which colors I use the most, and Toasted is definitely one of them. It’s a metallic brown, but with a pinky hint to it. This color is creamy and stays on all day, with the help of primer.

Eyeshadow Palette

• Red – Urban Decay Naked Palette - I turn to this palette over and over and over again. The colors are gorgeous which make for some amazing looks. It has everything you need which also makes it great for traveling.
• Pants – Too Faced Naked Eye Collection – This was my go-to summer palette. I loved wearing the gray shades for a nice every day look, but it was easy to switch to a going out look with the darker colors in the palette. I keep going back to it for the highlight colors and grays.

I decided to spend some of my holiday money on an Inglot Freedom System. Pants has a couple of these and I have been wanting one for a while. It was finally time.  Depending on the brand, some shadows can dry my eyes out, or make them swollen and puffy which is why I opted for the five shadow Freedom System. I love how affordable this palette is. The Five Eye Shadow Square Freedom System is $10 and the shadow refills are $5 a piece. For a total of $35 I was able to create my palette. I wanted to make a travel friendly neutral palette. That is why I chose a range of mattes and shimmers as well as lights and darks.

I have to say that I’m very impressed by these shadows. They didn’t irritate my eyes at all. The shadows are highly pigmented and blend amazingly. I’ve been having too much fun wearing these shadows every day. The bright peach shadow (#407) was used in a MakeupGeek tutorial. Pants and I talked about the shadow a lot and I do mean A LOT. She finally purchased it and told me that I NEEDED it. I think everyone NEEDS it. It’s so shimmery and so pretty. I think it would look amazing on any skin tone. The other shades are just as wonderful and pair nicely with the bright peach.

I give Inglot eyeshadows 5 out of 5 sparkles.

I. Love. These. Shadows. I would compare their quality to Urban Decay. They are so soft, velvety and pigmented. You don’t have to load up your brush with product to get good coverage. These blend easily, and they look just as bright on the lid as in the pan. And like Red said, you can’t beat the price – $5 per regular shadow and $7 for a rainbow shadow, which is three shades in one.

I actually have to make myself use other shadows because I want to wear these everyday.

I give Inglot eye shadows 5 out of 5 sparkles.

Since we don’t have an Inglot near us, we had to rely on the Interwebz to help us decide what colors to order. The good news is that some Macy’s are starting to get Inglot counters, so we’re going to keep our fingers crossed that one will be near us soon!
